ARTISTS BIO:
Sandra began her career as an artist after retiring from a long career in the telecommunications and project management arenas. During her preparation for retirement, Sandra joined a friend in attending oil painting classes. Even though she had only painted in watercolors for a short time 20 years before, and did not care for that media, she found that she loved painting with oils and has been hooked ever since! Her focus is on painting the things she loves - sea shells, beaches, landscapes, flowers, still life, and beautiful scenery in Italy. Her artwork was accepted into the SC State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition – Amateur Division for years 2014 through 2017 (she was unable to submit an entry in 2018). In 2016, her piece entitled “Poppies Galore” won a Merit Award in the Amateur Division of the Crooked Creek Art League's (CCAL) Juried Show (Chapin, S.C.). And in 2018 another piece, “Lillies at Brookgreen” won a Patron Award in the Amateur Division of the CCAL's Juried Show. Sandra has returned to Greenville and loves to share her paintings with others and always looks forward to beginning the next work of art! |
